Zeiss 510 Meta ConfoCor 3 CLSM

The Zeiss 510 Meta ConfoCor3 Laser Scanning Microscope is configured on a Zeiss AxioObserver Z1 automated inverted microscope platform with an XY automated stage and provides up to 7 lines of laser excitation.  Laser excitation includes the blue diode laser (405 nm), the Argon gas laser (458 nm, 488 nm, and 514 nm), the green Helium Neon gas laser (543 nm), the yellow Helium Neon gas laser (594 nm) and the red Helium Neon gas laser (633 nm).  High-resolution confocal fluorescence and/or reflection are detected through variable pinhole apertures and are recorded using two high-sensitivity photomultiplier tube (PMT) detectors with band pass and long pass emission filters for wavelength selection and a META spectral detector.  An independent PMT detector permits collection of brightfield, polarized light, and DIC contrast images.

  • PECON stage incubator, with heating insert P (ambient to 60 degrees C)
  • Linkham Scientific Instruments PE100-ZAL cooling/heating stage (-5 to 88 degrees C)
  • Zeiss Axiocam Dightal MRm camera with AxioVision software
